TOOTH WHITENING 101

TOOTH WHITENING 101

Spring is a time to shine! It’s a time to get outside more, to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, and to make sure your smile is bright and white!

Tooth whitening can give you that attractive, confident smile that you’ve always wanted. How does tooth whitening work and how long will it take to be able to enjoy a bright new smile?

Tooth stains and discoloration can occur when you drink a lot of dark liquids, like coffee or tea. Smokers will also find that their teeth become stained and yellow over time. Of course, not taking good care of your teeth or not visiting a dentist for a regular cleaning can also contribute to discolored teeth.

Tooth whitening can take care of those stains and discoloration, but it will be important to maintain good dental hygiene after the whitening process is complete, to keep that smile bright and white. Whitening is a safe procedure for most patients that can be done in a dentist’s office or at home. At Johns Dentistry, we offer two methods of whitening: in-office whitening and tray whitening.

Our in-office procedure takes place in less than two hours! We first apply a protective gel to your gums to protect the soft tissue there. We then apply activating gel to the teeth for whitening. Our technician stays in the room with you throughout the entire process. We then clean off the solution once optimum whitening of your teeth has been reached.

Your brilliant new smile will retain its newfound sheen for a long time with proper care. To help you maintain your white teeth with at-home touch-ups, we take impressions of your teeth to create custom trays for you to take with you, along with instructions on how to keep that smile looking bright.

Tooth whitening can give you the confidence to smile brightly through all your spring activities and into the rest of the year. Contact us today to learn more about Tooth Whitening 101 for your brightest smile ever!
